Job Description:

Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates to teach part-time Substitute Instructor for the Cosmetology Program at the Superior Campus. 

Northwood Tech Instructors teach in a discipline area in which they have specific training and competence. Instructors are expected to foster learner success, assess learner achievement, and continually improve learning opportunities. Instructors teach in a variety of learning environments including face-to-face, online, web-conferencing, and hybrid classrooms. Instructors are expected to continually improve the overall quality and delivery of learning, including the support of program and collegewide initiatives. 

Qualifications, Degree & Experience Required: 

  • Valid State of Wisconsin Cosmetology License or ability to successfully obtain license prior to start of employment contract
  • Bachelors degree in the field or closely related field and 2 years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience, of which at least 1 year (2,000 hours) shall be within 5 years prior to the date of appointment. OR
  • 1-year technical diploma in the field or closely related field and 5 years (10,000 hours) of occupational experience, of which at least 1 year (2,000 hours) shall be within 5 years prior to the date of appointment.  
  • Ability to obtain drivers license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy

Preferred:

  • Teaching or industry-related training experience (post-secondary desired)
  • Curriculum development experience
  • Experience using alternative instructional modes (e.g., online, web-conferencing, and hybrid)

Salary

  • FY24 Salary - $44.00 / hour
