Job Description:

Required Educational Background: Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, or a closely related field.

Required Skillset: For the research component of the position, the required skillset includes a strong background in materials development and characterization. In addition to conducting research, your duties may also include preparing reports, performing literature reviews, supervising undergraduate students, and assisting with other projects in the laboratory. Another requirement is a strong interest in basic and applied research. Good verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work both independently and within a team structure delivering project components on given time schedules; Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities: The research-related responsibilities of this position will include: Mentoring undergraduate students; Writing journal publications, preparing reports that summarize the work conducted for progress reports to funding agencies; Planning, developing, and implementing technical and scientific research programs; Contributing to proposal writing and acquisition of preliminary data.
