Job Description

The Head of Construction oversees the planning and delivery of construction projects and ensuring the timely and costly completion of construction projects by overseeing all phases of the project. This entails working with a variety of stakeholders to schedule and plan work, coordinate equipment and materials, operate within budget, and monitor overall progress. They organize logistics, delegate work and keep track of spending, liaise with clients and construction professionals to arrange schedules and direct activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the local development team and origination department in the assessment of business opportunities.

  • Ensure a smooth roll out of the projects from Development to Construction.
  • Manage and coordinate EPC and O&M tender processes.
  • Manage contract negotiations and other agreements with EPC and O&M.
  • Liaise with external entities, e.g., utilities for interconnection process, municipalities, permitting entities, etc.
  • Coordinate external services providers, e.g., owner engineering, environmental advisers, health & safety supervision services, etc.
  • EPC contract management and on-site operations, including the review of project submittals for quality assurance, technical accuracy, schedule, etc.
  • Ensure project compliance with Companies Social Responsibility, Quality, Environmental and Safety standards, practices, and internal codes.
  • Reports on project progress.
  • Handle and provide all close-out documentation to Asset Management team at completion of the projects.
  • Support Asset Management team during warranty period.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor Degree in Construction Related Field or Engineering degree.
  • At least 10-15 years of experience as a Construction Director of renewable energy projects.
  • Domestic travel between 30% - 50%.
  • Experience in managing an EPC team.
