Accounts Payable Administrator Co-Op/Intern



An Accounts Payable Administrator Co-Op/Internis responsible for assisting in completing the daily activities of the AP Team. September 9, 2024 to December 20, 2024


Full time Co-Op/Internship. Hybrid, typically 36-40 hours a week.



What will you do?



Daily activities could consist of:




  • Assisting our business partners with invoice and payment status, statement reconciliation and correcting coding/routing issues. Including track and report on invoice issues monthly.


  • Identifying issues the vendor is experiencing, determine the cause, and communicate and coordinate with business to ensure necessary action is taken to resolve them.


  • Assisting with Supply Chain and Transportation resolution and maximizing relationships with our suppliers by meeting vendor requirements and expectations from the receipt of invoice to settlement of payment.


  • Assisting the AP team in monitoring, analyze and coordinate barge, sulfur, and/or transportation-supply chain payables.


  • Assisting in quickly respond and resolve internal customer and external supplier inquiries via phone and/or email within the Accounts Payable service level agreement.


  • Assisting in rail car payment facilitation process which may include requesting purchase orders and getting invoices approve for processing.


  • Use third-party vendor websites to assist in the determination of railroad classification and locations to resolve billing discrepancies.


  • Maintain, update, and ensure accuracy of standard documents, records and accounts.


  • Participate in Global Digital Acceleration work throughout 2024 as required.





What do you need for this role?





  • Sophomore or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics


  • Customer service and/or transportation experience preferred


  • SAP Experience preferred


  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills and proficiency with visualization/reporting tools considered an asset.


  • 2.75 GPA or higher


  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is required


  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred


  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.


  • Experience working in a team environment is a must


  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable


  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus


  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
