Primary Function:

The Enamel Technician will be responsible for the application of a variety of enameling to the substrate of steel tanks, pipes, pipe fittings, and other components as well as maintain the various application and spray equipment systems and oven throughout the enameling process.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply various enamel material to substrate of steel tanks, pipe fittings and other components utilizing hand and automatic enameling spray systems.
  • Use and maintain pressure pots and pressurized application gun systems for the enamel spraying process.
  • Load tanks, fittings, and components into oven curing system, understanding parameters and settings to achieve the correct enamel curing process.
  • Maintain and clean up all equipment at the end of shift.
  • Understand and utilize inspection parameters to determine enamel coverage for quality and to drive out variation in coatings process.
  • Operate and evaluate test equipment for proof of material characteristics.
  • Complete necessary testing for new batch approval process and in-process batch attribute maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Aptitude for learning and understanding equipment, processes, and quality standards
  • Attention to detail.
  • Critical thinking skills and an interest in learning chemical process of enameling
  • Competency to perform and verify laboratory experiments and testing.
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
