The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting audits. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen.
Responsibilities
Maintain all GL accounts, perform balance sheet, subledger, and intercompany loan reconciliations in a professional, detailed, and organized timely manner that meets SOX and substantive requirements.
Ensure a complete and accurate month-end close process within established deadlines of the company - (TB review, timetable improvements, etc.).
Manage the fixed asset accounting for the business unit to include data maintenance in AX, circulating CERs for required approvals, and document management.
Take the initiative to investigate reconciling items or discrepancies. Contact the appropriate individuals to gather information in order to propose and implement solutions.
Perform compliance duties around new customer and vendor account setups.
Report monthly sales to outside firm for periodic sales tax return completion, maintain city/state rates in AX, and update customer cards with relevant exemption information.
Provide data to our Corporate Tax department and outside tax firms, as needed, and liaise with outside tax firm on collecting signatures and coordinating with A/P for timely payment.
Prepare audit schedules and provide audit support to assist in our annual internal audit and interim and year-end external audits.
Partner with the relevant individuals/departments to aid in process development and improvement.
Assist in other capacities, as required.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
2+ years of experience in GL accounting and reconciliations
Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
Advanced level of Excel knowledge
Previous experience using an AX system is a plus
Previous experience in a SOX controlled environment
