Community Training Center Educator Basic at Billings Clinic in Malta, Montana

Job Description:

The CTC Educator- Basic is responsible for teaching American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support Courses for the Billings Clinic Community Training Center. The incumbent will be responsible for teaching, and evaluating CPR educational programs consistent with the American Heart Association (AHA) protocols. Expertise is utilized in a classroom setting. Markets Billings Clinic programs, services and medical staff through and knowledgeable responses to questions regarding the organization.
Essential Job Functions
• Supports and models behaviors consistent with the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and department/service. Demonstrates positive, supportive and caring behaviors in communication with all class participants and coworkers.
• Evaluates health care professionals and lay public participants to apply said skills and identifies opportunities for modification that would enhance professional practice, maintain/improve patient/resident care and lay rescuer skills.(Education, Community, Skill Evaluation)
• Teaches education programs which are consistent with American Heart Association protocols, collaborates with the CTC Coordinator and Assistants and other health care providers to assure appropriateness of educational offerings for individual and community needs. Authorized to instruct the following classes: Heart Saver & Health Care Provider (Education, Community, American Heart Assoc. Programs)
• Utilizes various types of audiovisual equipment such as TV/DVD, laptops, simulation equipment, manikins and Microsoft PowerPoint in presenting the above programs. (Education, Materials, Training Equipment)
• Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
• Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
