JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the administration of the HRIS (HR Information System) maintenance, and data integrity; updating and maintaining job descriptions; assisting with the non-clinical recruitment process; orientation and new hire process, assisting with annual benchmarking and wage review processes in addition to policy revision. This position is also responsible for participating in employee relations incidents as well as providing coaching and resources to all levels of employees and management as needed. The Human Resources Generalist is expected to utilize independent judgment and discretionary decision making in addressing his/her responsibilities and tasks.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in developing human resources management goals and objectives.
Safeguards the confidentiality of employee data, including electronic and personnel file information.
Ensures the integrity of human resources information.
Maintains HR database.
Responsible for completing wage surveys and annual benchmarking of positions.
Directs and assures compliance and documentation with regard to employee evaluations, grievances, disciplinary actions, terminations, etc.
Interpret and explain Human Resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
Address employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or personnel concerns
Assists Managers/Supervisors in job evaluation/analysis.
Recommends changes and updates job descriptions based on discussions with managers and with trends in workplace.
In collaboration with the Deputy Chief Human Resources officer, recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship in order to promote a high level of employee morale.
Assures that effective communications are maintained within areas of responsibility.
Assist in the development of training programs and ensures compliance with State requirements regarding staff and management training.
Maintains and updates the New Hire Orientation process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of human resources management procedures, CA labor laws, agency regulations.
Knowledge of compensation and benchmarking practices.
Knowledge of federal regulations related to employment particularly the Equal Employment Opportunity Act.
Knowledge of human resources information systems and related computer applications.
Knowledge of the recruitment process and best practices.
Must be detail oriented and have good analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships
Ability to type 35 wpm
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
BA/BS degree in human resources, business or related field
Minimum of five years' experience in Human Resources, preferably in health care setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PHR certificate.
HRIS expertise and experience.
