Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud architecture and a deep understanding of AWS services. You will work closely with various teams to create scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions that align with our business goals. Here's a summary of the key responsibilities and characteristics associated with the role of an AWS Cloud Architect: Responsibilities: •Architecture Design: Design and architect scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions using AWS services to meet business and technical requirements. •Implementation: Lead the implementation and migration of applications and workloads to the AWS cloud environment. •Optimization: Optimize AWS environments for performance, cost, and scalability, ensuring efficient resource utilization. •Security: Design and implement robust security architectures, including IAM policies, encryption, and network security best practices. •Automation: Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Cloud Development Kit, Terraform, and Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of AWS resources. •Governance: Establish and enforce cloud governance policies to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. •Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and support for cloud-based applications and services. •Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, processes, and procedures. •Consultation: Provide expert guidance and support to stakeholders on cloud adoption strategies and best practices. Characteristics: •Technical Aptitude: They have a good understanding of technical concepts and the ability to learn and explain complex topics. •Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is crucial to ensure accuracy and consistency. •Research Skills: Adept at conducting research to gather technical information from various sources. •Communication: Effective communication and collaboration with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams are essential. •Continuous Learning: Staying updated with industry trends and technologies is important for keeping processes relevant. Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or demonstrated experience as a cloud engineer or in a similar role. •At least 5 years of professional experience in cloud architecture and engineering, with a focus on AWS. •Extensive knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM). •Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (e.g., CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation). •Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash). •Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., CodePipeline, Jenkins). •In-depth understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in cloud environments. •Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, ELK Stack). •AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar certifications preferred.
