Job Summary:

This Engineering Manager position is a critical role within our Autonomy & Automation System Integration & Validation organization. This role of Quality Manager will be responsible for owning all quality related processes and metric reporting, for driving common implementation of the quality practices across our A&A Technology delivery teams and will directly manage our CPI Black Belts. Common quality practices will include BIQ deployment, consistent issue risk definition, and tracking of programs towards NPI quality standards.

The individual will deliver new levels of product quality for Autonomy and Automation, set & report on key metrics, lead team members, and ensure commonality in processes & reporting dashboards. Outstanding technical, coordination, and communication skills are a must for this position. What You Will Do:

  • Champion Product Quality for all Autonomy & Automation NPI programs.
  • Provide leadership to create and maintain common processes to ensure quality from all office and onboard delivery teams.
  • Lead all aspects of A&A reporting in the Mining Technology Quality Council.
  • List manager for A&A Product Level Defect list.
  • Manage team of CPI Black Belts (US & India).
  • Drive relentless execution on resolution of CPI projects with quality and velocity.
Education requirement:

Requires a degree in an accredited Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science curriculum.

What skills you will have:

Planning: Tactical, Strategic:
  • Expertise in developing multiyear strategic-level validation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of annual budget planning cycle processes.
Communicating for Impact:
  • Expertise in presenting concise status summaries to technical teams, technical managers, and director/executive level stakeholders.
Technical Excellence :
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and practices.
  • Expertise with complex software applications within system of system level products.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar BIQ (built in quality) practices.
  • Expertise with developing metric reporting dashboards (ex. in Azure DevOps or similar platforms).
Managing People :
  • Expertise in direct people management skills.
  • Works collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds; understands their needs and perspectives.
Additional Information:

The location for this position is Mossville, IL

Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.

This position will require 25% travel.
