The Office of the Transfer Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Associate Director position. We are seeking candidates who can contribute in meaningful ways to enhancing the accessibility of higher education, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment, improving the recruitment and graduation of our students. The Position:




This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.


This position is accountable for the administration of the many facets of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions Transfer Center.  Specifically, this position has direct accountability for administration of the Transfer and Community College Articulation Programs and software testing for transfer students. This position maintains all procedures/tables for transfer software related to transfer articulation and equivalency in Banner (UTK student information system), OnBase (automated transfer course evaluation software), and Transfer Evaluation System (TES). This position works with the Reverse Transfer Program, Tennessee Transfer Pathways, and Tennessee Reconnect voted in by the Tennessee Legislature.





Qualifications


Required Education and Experience:


Bachelor's Degree


• Minimum two (2) years of progressive, professional responsibility in higher education.


• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in transfer credit evaluation and articulation.


• Minimum one (1) year experience in higher education with curricular policies and procedures.


• Minimum one (1) year experience as a direct supervisor.



 



Preferred Education and Experience:


Master's Degree


• Direct experience working in a Transfer Center, Registrar’s Office, or Office of Undergraduate Admissions; experience working with transfer operations, evaluation, and articulation.


• Detail oriented and possess polished written and interpersonal skills.


•  Experience with Banner or another student information system.


• Experience with OnBase or another automated transfer credit evaluation solution.


• Experience creating and presenting training documentation.


• Experience compiling and analyzing transfer student data.


• Experience writing and reviewing transfer articulation agreements, MOUs, and MOAs.



 



Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


• Knowledge of higher education curricular policies, procedures, and processes.


• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently and supervise those of direct reports.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment that relies on this position's skills and recommendations.


• Ability to work with a wide variety of populations.


• Ability to understand how discrete processes are interrelated.


• Ability to understand the broad impact and consequences of decisions.


• Ability to work with higher education software solutions and other computing needs.


• Ability to work with external vendors and communicate the university's needs.

The Enrollment Management (EM) division comprises more than 190 full-time staff who serve our students through the following departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment, Transfer Center, One Stop Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Center for Financial Wellness, University Registrar, Pre-college Research Excellence Programs, EM Research & Analytics, EM Communications, and EM Operations.
