Responsibilities
Position summary
The CAD Programmer Technician will be responsible for generating and controlling programs for production equipment using CAD/CAM software. Provide support to the technical staff during all phases of the product cycle from quoting to production.
Essential Job Functions
Provide technical assistance to estimating for quotation purposes regarding machining operations
Evaluate programmability for machining operations
Utilize CAD/CAM to generate program files
Establish and maintain required programming files, directories, and security
Program control from "cradle to grave", revision control, and archiving
Ensure posts are in proper order to generate CNC code
Troubleshoot programs as necessary until a capable process yields an acceptable first piece that meets print/customer specification
Ensure the process yields an acceptable first piece that meets the quoted setup and rate. If not, either independently or alongside Engineering, troubleshoot as necessary until a capable process yields an acceptable first piece that meets the existing quote. .
Support CAPA investigations related to customer complaints
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience
Associates degree or equivalent demonstrated technical experience
Two years-experience with CAD/CAM required
Proficient with a 3D CAD system (PTC Creo, SolidWorks, or other 3D CAD system)
Proficient with a CAM system (PTC Creo Manufacturing, Esprit, PartMaker, GibbsCAM, MasterCAM or other CAM system)
Knowledgeable with fixture and tool design
Advanced blueprint reading capabilities with knowledge of GD&T principals
Excellent problem-solving skills
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
