Best Buy Co. has openings in Richfield, Minnesota for the position of Associate Software Engineer II. This position provides a telecommuting benefit allowing the employee to reside anywhere in the United States. Develop and maintain medium to large applications and services, in accordance with company methodologies, technical standards, and time and budget estimates. Support in the process of developing, and documenting tech designs, code reviews, and design reviews based on business requirements. Understand the architecture and design patterns of the systems and complete the work with minimal oversight. Write code for medium complex software systems. Participate in design workshops and prepare complex test scripts and troubleshoot complex software defects independently when required. Work with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. This position requires travel to the Richfield headquarters at least once every fiscal quarter. There are multiple openings for this role. Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent foreign degree in any Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a closely related technological specialty, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience, plus at least two (2) years of experience in software/web development. At least one (1) year of this experience must include: (1) experience with Agile methodology; (2) implementing and deploying modern web development solutions utilizing Java, JavaScript, Spring frameworks, HTML, XML, RESTful webservices, Oracle, and/or MySQL; (3) knowledge and experience with integrated development environments (Eclipse, IntelliJ, and/or Visual Studio). The pay ranges from $81,931/year to $99,694/year.
