NOTICE of Testing for the 2024 Eligibility List for the Peoria Heights Fire Department For the

Position of Firefighter

NOTICE is hereby given that the Village of Peoria Heights Fire Department is hiring for the position of Firefighter.

DATES TO REMEMBER 

• Application deadline – Wednesday July 10, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. Applications received after that time will not be considered.
• Mandatory orientation – Saturday July 20, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at the Peoria Heights Village Hall meeting room 4901 N Prospect Rd Peoria Heights, IL 61616. All applicants must attend this orientation. PHOTO I.D. REQUIRED.

To be considered for appointment, you must successfully pass a series of tests designed to measure your physical and mental ability to work as a firefighter. 

• Physical Agility – you must obtain a CPAT card with ladder climb.
• Written Test - will be administered on Saturday July 27, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at the Peoria Heights Grade School, 500 E. Glen Ave, Peoria Heights IL 61616. Please arrive early as no one will be allowed entrance into the test after 9:00 a.m. PHOTO I.D. REQUIRED. The minimum passing score will be 70%.
• Interview - After successful completion of all requirements and passing the written exam, a mandatory interview with the Police and Fire Commission will be conducted between August 12 - 23, 2024. You will be notified of your interview time and date after successful completion of the written test. PHOTO I.D. REQUIRED. Candidates will be assessed on a scoring system with a minimum passing score of 70%.
• The written test will be weighted at 60% and the interview will be weighted at 40% to determine overall candidate scores.
