RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in North Bethesda, MD that is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist.

Responsibilities:

• Payroll Processing: Manage and process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements


• Multi-State Payroll: Handle payroll for employees across multiple states, ensuring compliance with varying state laws and regulations


• California Payroll Law: Ensure payroll practices comply with California-specific regulations, including meal and rest breaks, overtime, and wage statements


• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file payroll tax returns, ensuring timely deposits and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws


• Reporting: Generate and review payroll reports for management, auditors, and regulatory agencies


• Issue Resolution: Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues promptly


• System Management: Maintain and update payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and security


• Audit Preparation: Assist with internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field


• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of payroll processing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role


• Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday)


• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
