Educational Programs and Services (EPS) is home to departments and programs that are central to the educational mission of the Stanford University School of Medicine. We serve all populations of students and trainees who participate in the School's programs: Stanford MD, MS, MSPA, and PhD students; visiting MD students seeking clinical clerkships; postdoctoral scholars and medical fellows; and medical practitioners seeking further professional enrichment. Job Purpose

The Stanford MD Admissions team is currently seeking a part-time temporary Technical Support Specialist to join a passionate and value-driving team in an exciting and dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate would be available to start as soon as possible through approximately February 28, 2025.

Work Agreement: On-site at the Stanford main campus

Core Duties:

Tech Check Office Hours: Conduct office hours from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (3 days a week, usually Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays plus one-off appointments as applicable) to assist interviewers in troubleshooting audio/video issues and navigating different applications on their computer. This includes checking the compatibility of interviewer equipment and software with our interview platform. The tech check office hours will run until mid-February 2025 (potentially ending earlier based on the hiring timeline).

Interview Day Support: Provide technical troubleshooting support from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm on interview days, assisting with Zoom troubleshooting, audio/video issues, internet connectivity, and application navigation to ensure all interviewers have full functionality on the virtual platform.

Excel Tasks: Utilize advanced Excel skills to handle confidential information and assist with tasks related to interview preparations (approximately 3 hours per week through December 2024). These hours are in addition to the tech check office hours when sessions are utilized. When tech check sessions are NOT utilized, they must be used to fulfill any Excel-related tasks.

Education (Required):

Associate's degree plus two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required):
  • General computer skills and experience troubleshooting common issues such as audio/video, internet connectivity, and software compatibility
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel to manage tasks related to interview scheduling and data organization.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, and handle confidential information.
  • Familiarity with Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a patient and supportive approach to assisting individuals with minimal technical skills.

The expected pay range for this position is $36.00 to $42.00 per hour.
