Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or similar field.
3-4+ years of experience in a corporate tax department.
Experience in filing and or analysis of sales tax returns.
Understanding of sales tax implications, including manufacturing exemptions, is preferred.
High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and dependability.
Experience with Longview Tax Provision Software and SAP is a plus.
Willingness to learn aspects of the following areas:
Preparing corporate income tax returns and/or provision work.
Core Responsibilities:
Prepare files for quarterly tax provisions and collaborate on the preparation and reconciliation of sales tax returns handled by a third party.
Manage the preparation and filing of local business license taxes.
Maintain the compliance calendar and ensure timely submission of tax-related documents.
Provide support for audits and other tax-related projects as assigned.
Oversee and guide junior tax staff in tax-related processes and provisions.
Work on sales tax issues, including learning and leading in this area, as well as managing the implications of sales tax on bids, product codes, and certificates.
Handle foreign sales tax (GST), (HST), and (PST). As well as other various aspects of sales tax, including end-user taxable, manufacturers, and resellers.
