Job Definition:

The Supplier Relationship Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of strategies associated within BDI's supply chain. This includes collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, negotiating on behalf of BDI for reduced total cost of ownership, not limited to pricing, terms and conditions, rebates, discounts, and supplier selection.

Works with the Vice President of Supply Chain and other key department heads including planning and sourcing to execute and optimize supplier base quality performance, managing a team of supplier development professionals through the utilization of policies, procedures and tools ensuring alignment to our business and customer requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains reporting to make business decisions, develops tools and maintains analytics to drive supplier rationalization, performs impact analysis around change requests, and provides solutions to improve processes.
  • Develops key relationships with executives, sales, distribution, and product group management for the purpose of identifying, qualifying, and managing a highly capable supply base and drive the spend and consolidation to achieve the performance goals.
  • Negotiates supplier contracts and incentive plans. Tracks and reconciles incentive plans.
  • Develops supplier programs with designated Tier 1, Tier 2, targeted suppliers and manages RFP and RFQ execution.
  • Develops, maintains, and tracks reporting for minority spend, green initiatives, profitability, and other special reporting projects, and closely monitors supplier quality and performance metrics.
  • Creates, manages, and maintains entries for SAP vendor master in US focused on accuracy and completeness. Works with external and internal parties to drive improvements regarding data quality between companies.
  • Determines staffing needs and manages a team's day-to-day activities to ensure that work being done is aligned to business priority.
  • Assures supplier corrective and preventative action plans are developed and executed. Works closely with quality team and suppliers to ensure ISO adherence regarding supplier evaluations.
  • Maintains and monitors supplier performance and compliance to requirements through supplier scorecards. Reports on supplier diversification and spend diversification metrics.
  • Upholds data governance processes and policies. Manages tasks (i.e. research and resolve) around data issues and resolutions.
  • Responsible for other duties as they are assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and managing supplier relationships.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team.
  • Strong hydraulic and pneumatic product knowledge.
  • Strong computer skills to include proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally (likely once every couple of months).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field.
