The Financial Management Group (FMG) is comprised of Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Accounting, and Accounts Payable. 

Our Financial Planning & Analysis department is looking to fill a Financial Analyst II/III position.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will support the Bank's compliance functions, accurate and reasonable financial information and projections. You will help prepare cost analysis, provide cost allocation metrics, and ensure compliance with the Federal Reserve System Cost Accounting for Strategic Planning and Reporting (CASPR) procedures.

Onsite work is an essential function of this position, and you are expected to be in the office 3 days per week for meetings and team collaboration, unless directed otherwise by your supervisor.

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the accuracy of the Bank's direct and allocated expenses for actual, forecast, and budget.


  • Create metrics to be used for allocating costs to business lines.


  • Ensure Bank compliance with Federal Reserve finance practices and provide related consultation and counseling to internal business line partners.


  • Support monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes by providing cost allocation expertise to management and team members.


  • Be an expert on the step-down cost allocation method and provide consultation and explanation to internal customers on how indirect costs are distributed.


  • Assign business line spend to appropriate activity for activity-based costing and reporting.


  • Review employee Activity Assignments to ensure salary expenses are allocated to the benefitting activities.


  • Verify accuracy of data and work with business lines to correct errors.


  • Review, verify, and analyze financial information for accuracy and compliance.


  • Conduct compliance reviews of journal entries, invoices and purchase requests.


  • Provide customer service to internal business line partners.


  • Manage access to financial applications and process organizational structure changes for the department and our collaborators.


  • Calculate the Bank's imputed sales and utility taxes.


  • Support testing of Federal Reserve System financial applications.


  • Support management during internal audit reviews.


  • Lead or participate in a Cost Accounting Advisory Team group with cost accounting colleagues from all Twelve Reserve Banks.


  • Participate in projects that affect the Bank and the Federal Reserve System.


  • Present quantitative information, analyses, and business driver explanations to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences, including senior bank leadership and other Federal Reserve System leaders.


  • Develop and maintain procedures.


Qualifications for Financial Analyst III:

The amount of responsibility, complexity, and oversight of work will vary depending on level. 


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related fields, AND 4 years of experience in an accounting or financial analysis-oriented environment.


  • Advanced degree, CPA, or professional certifications preferred for level III. ​


  • A level III analyst will work more independently, provide work direction, lead projects, and engage in more complex project assignments and analyses.


Qualifications for Financial Analyst II:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related fields, AND 2 years of experience in an accounting or financial analysis-oriented environment. ​

Applicable at both levels:


  • Experience of cost accounting standards and GAAP.


  • Experience with complex financial analyses and proven ability to project anticipated results.


  • Experience in technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Teams/Office 365 and strong Excel skills.


  • Experience with Workday, OfficeConnect, Ariba, Tableau, SharePoint and other reporting tools preferred.


  • Ability to combine a big picture perspective with a high level of attention to detail.


  • Understanding the role of compliance in tandem with customer service is highly valued.


  • Work collaboratively and contribute to a team setting.


  • Ability to take initiative and work well with a multitude of individuals and levels within the organization.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to wide range of audiences, including executive management, and individuals with various knowledge levels.

Financial Analyst II: $60,600.0 - $75,777.0- $90,900.0 annual

Financial Analyst III: $75,900.0 - $94,913.0 - $113,900.0 annual
