Job Summary
The Undergraduate Program at the Kelley School of Business is seeking a Director of Student Support. Student Support is responsible for the mental health and wellness programming within the Undergraduate Program. The position will report to the Senior Director of the Undergraduate Program.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Collaborates with teams within the program to offer targeted support; including the Student Life team, the Undergraduate Office of Access and Community Enhancement, and the Academic Advising team in their work with individual students and communities.
Supervises professional staff on the Student Support team.
Interfaces directly with students and places an emphasis on student wellness, university policy compliance, and a culture of care within all direct student interactions.
Provides non-clinical support through meetings with individual students and student organization leaders to discuss wellness needs, provide coaching and connect students with resources.
Oversees student programs and initiatives that stimulate a strong sense of belonging and well-being; including offering support for students facing adversity or challenges, addressing topics including mental health and wellness in the student community, and developing tolls to educate students on stress management and other wellness related areas.
Oversees a robust, school-wide peer to peer mentoring program; Collects and interprets data related to student needs and program outcomes.
Contributes to committees and staff training as a subject matter expert.
Frequently presents topics related to student mental health and wellness to faculty, staff, student organization leaders and other target groups.
Sets strategy related to mental health and wellness initiatives to improve the experiences of students.
General Responsibilities
Provides day-to-day operational management of student support staff.
Establishes short-term operational objectives.
Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.
Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.
Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.
Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.
Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve student support operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.
Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry standards, best practices, and emerging technology; keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems.

EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree in social work, law, or related field
Preferred
Master's degree in higher education student affairs or related field

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
