Job Description:

Job Title: Contract HR Generalist


Hours: M-F 8am-5pm


Location: Minneapolis (hybrid)


Pay: $28-$34/hour



Key Responsibilities:



  • Offer HR support and guidance to managers and staff, including advice on recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.

  • Work closely with managers during the hiring process, from interviewing and selecting candidates to onboarding, including background checks, paperwork processing, and new hire orientation.

  • Collaborate with managers to resolve employee performance issues and support employee engagement and retention efforts.

  • Provide HR-related training and organizational development support. Work with internal teams to coordinate employee development initiatives and continuing education opportunities.

  • Assist in organizing classroom and virtual training sessions, while maintaining accurate attendance and completion records in the Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Offer support with payroll and benefits administration.

  • Establish strong relationships with leaders, managers, and staff, and collaborate across departments to support HR initiatives.

  • Communicate HR policies and monitor the effectiveness of HR programs, recommending improvements to systems and processes as needed.

  • Support investigations into employment issues and ensure compliance with legal and organizational policies.

  • Lead complex, organization-wide HR projects to drive improvement and alignment with business goals.

  • In the absence of senior HR leaders, make critical HR-related decisions impacting the organization.

  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.


Requirements:



  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field (or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).

  • At least 1 year of relevant HR experience.

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is required.

  • Non-profit experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with employment laws and HR management best practices.

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant HR experience required.

  • Excellent project management skills.
