SUMMARY

The Sr. Specialist, Total Rewards is experienced professional with focus on compensation, benefits and leave programs, and is responsible for the effective application and administration of all related policies and plans. Under general guidance from the Director, Total Rewards, they support leaders and business partners with job design, compensation administration, issue resolution, offer development, and benefit guidance that ensures an engaging employee experience. The Sr. Specialist, Total Rewards keeps abreast of trends and talent matters and will lead total rewards initiatives that will influence the engagement of the best talent for our global organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer SHRM compensation and benefits programs globally and in alignment with SHRM’s business strategy and financial objectives.
  • Supports the with developing sound compensation plans and is responsible for the day-to-day administration of such plans.
  • Leads benchmarking initiatives and keeps abreast of market conditions and the competitive talent landscape in adapting compensation strategies for key talent segments; participates in compensation and benefits surveys and analyzes results to inform SHRM’s total rewards programs.
  • Guides leaders through job design, job analysis and job descriptions to aid with job leveling decisions and compensation structure alignment.
  • Administers quarterly sales incentives according to approved sales plans.
  • Oversees HR Compliance and represents the HR department in Total Rewards related audits, identifies stakeholders to provide all necessary information for accurate and timely responses.
  • Maintain and manage data integrity in HRIS to ensure accurate reporting for compensation and benefits programs.
  • Manages partnership with assigned third party service providers and is the main point of contact to resolve escalations that require business reviews or involving multiple stakeholders for resolution.
  • Provide oversight for retirement benefits through plan administrators and supports compliance and fiduciary activities.
  • Develop and deliver communications that help our employees and candidates appreciate and value our total compensation package including compensation, incentives, benefits, time off, etc.
  • Leads and/or participates in company-wide or departmental projects and initiatives that focus on enhancing the overall employee experience of the talent at SHRM.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Economics or related area or extensive experience in Human Resources, Compensation and Benefits Administration in lieu of college degree.
  • At least 5 years of work-related experience with demonstrated focus on compensation

Certifications

• SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP preferred or acquired within 12 months of hire

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Analytically driven, demonstrating strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Well organized, plans effectively and prioritizes time according to what matters most
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and the ability to manage and analyze data for compensation and benefits administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute in a dynamic, fast-paced organization
  • Dependable and can be counted upon to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Ability to be both strategic and operational

Work environment

Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.

The hiring range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000 per year. This range is an estimate and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
