Job Summary:


As we continue to scale one of the fastest growing apparel brands, we are seeking a shift supervisor to assist the shift manager in providing oversight for our manufacturing operations, including knitting and finishing. The shift supervisor is at the frontline of managing employee’s performance, schedules, ensuring production, and product quality. Supervisors work with managers, manufacturing operators, technicians, and QC staff to maximize productivity and quality according to production schedules and provide clear communication to appropriate personnel.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Ensure that all employees follow the company Environmental Health & Safety policies.

  • Hold employees accountable to all CHM policies and procedures through direct coaching and corrective action.



  • Supervise operational activities to include assigning job tasks, coordinating workflow, & adjusting staffing assignments as needed to optimize team and shift performance.

  • Communicate work status and exchange information with others across all departments within operations.



  • Monitor equipment and operators to ensure proper performance - coach operators in equipment operation or to perform technical procedures; use spec. sheets or other instructions to determine equipment setup, workflow, & standard work requirements.

  • Support the cultivation of an employee-oriented culture that emphasizesrespect and inclusion while promoting quality, continuous improvement & high performance.

  • Provide front line response to employee issues as they arise and respond or redirect them to HR or management for resolution.



  • Manage employee time & attendance and ensure hours worked are accurate and submitted to payroll.

  • Conduct performance reviews for team members in a timely & professional manner.

  • Collaborate with staff to develop and achieve career goals within the Company.



  • Participate in continuous improvement activities designed to address operational issues.



  • Monitor operators to ensure they perform standard work – communicate, correct, & coach to resolve any issues that arise.

  • Collaborate with Technicians and the Quality department to resolve daily production problems and/or equipment malfunctions, inspect production equipment & output to optimize our quality standards.

  • Monitor inventory and order required supplies as needed.

  • Ensure raw materials are prepared and available.

  • Ensure production data is accurately recorded relative to work volumes, and production reports at the end of the shift.

  • Stand in for Shift Manager when needed to cover absence & vacations.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Shift Manager.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

  • Experience with time keeping/payroll systems.

  • Experience with ERP and MES software.

  • Proven communication & listening skills required to direct employees in the workplace.

  • Sound judgement and decision-making to respond to challenging situations.

  • Reliability & sensitivity required to address conflict, delegate tasks & monitor employee performance in the workplace.



  • A positive & problem-solving approach to all aspects of their position.

  • Education equivalent to High School diploma or GED equivalent (Bachelor’s degree &/or college credits preferred)



  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing setting – preference given to a strong knowledge of all processes relevant to CHM manufacturing operations.

  • Highly responsible, dependable, and able to manage confidential information.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment.

  • Ability to collaborate productively with colleagues as part of a team.

  • Ability to always be professional and respectful.

  • Flexible nature to manage competing and changing priorities.


Working Conditions:



  • Manufacturing environment – exposure to machinery, noise, and other adverse conditions for periods of time depending on the role.

  • Ability to lift at least thirty pounds.

  • The company operates 7 days a week and occasionally requires attending working sessions outside of normal shift hours and supervising overtime as needed.

  • Travel locally to all the organization’s sites as required.
