Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION



  • Analyzing and interpreting plans
  • Interpreting work orders and determining the materials required
  • Calculating angles and determining the vertical and horizontal alignment
  • Laying bricks using mortar as a binder and a trowel to level
  • Fastening bricks with wire clamps or cement
  • Working safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights
  • Using equipment and tools effectively to perform basic construction tasks





RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Follow the rules of safe conduct always
  • Employee must be able to use standard and/or metric rule to measure
  • Demonstrate ability to use whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to add, subtract, multiply and divide and be able to accurately follow instructions
  • Identify, recognize and demonstrate safe usage of power tools and hand tools appropriate for the job
  • Demonstrate ability to work with a craft person
  • Identify, recognize and select appropriate materials related to specific crafts
  • Identify, explain, and perform crane hand signals
  • Demonstrate ability to assist craft person
  • Demonstrate ability to perform manual excavation
  • Work using all the safety equipment that OSHA requires as well as what is required by the client
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards, while following all waste handling guidelines





QUALIFICATIONS



  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
  • Work at heights without fear
  • Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures, and objects
  • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems
