Job Description:

Association of Washington Cities (AWC) is recruiting a full-time Membership Coordinator for our Risk Management Services Agency (RMSA) to join our agile and member focused team. The AWC Risk Management Service Agency (RMSA) is a member-owned and governed risk management pool for Washington's cities, towns, and special districts. RMSA offers comprehensive coverage for property and liability needs with a focus on proactive risk management, member education, technical assistance, and comprehensive claims management.

This position provides risk management operational support in the administration of the contracted Risk Management Service Agency (RMSA). Working closely with the Program Director, the incumbent will have a wide variety of duties that include delivering excellent customer service, maintaining positive relationships with vendors, carriers, and consultants, and ensuring compliance with program requirements through collaboration with internal staff and external partners.

The salary range for this position is $57,785 to $86,678. The top candidate's placement within the range will reflect education, training, and experience consistent with AWC policies.

This position may be able eligible to telework during certain times of the year or certain time periods, subject to director approval and as determined by the needs of AWC.

What you'll be doing

  • Answer member general questions and direct issues/concerns to the appropriate staff member
  • Coordinate updates of content for the program's member communication and program promotion materials, including website, newsletters, brochures and member resources
  • Coordinate member training programs, in cooperation with loss prevention personnel
  • Assist Program Director with securing various coverages including liability, property, crime, aviation, notary bonds, special events, builder's risk and other coverage and policies
  • Coordinate the scheduling and preparing of documents for program governance meetings
  • Participate in and coordinate new in-person member/official orientations, providing program materials and overview.

What you bring to the team

  • Three years of experience working in the fields of property & liability insurance, risk management, loss prevention, claims handling or public sector
  • Five years of experience working in a professional office setting providing customer service and conducting administrative operations
  • Associate degree in insurance, business, or related field required; experience may be substituted year-for-year for academic achievement
  • Designations and certifications in claims and risk management preferred but not required
  • Must maintain a valid Washington State driver's license in good standing
