Job Description:

This position oversees the operational planning, establishment, execution, and evaluation of multiple projects which consists of a set of closely related subprograms or associated activities. Oversees fiscal, operational and administrative management of select programs; assists faculty, staff and students with travel, serves as principal point of representation and liaison with external constituencies on operational matters, and provides day-to-day technical/professional guidance and leadership as appropriate to the area of expertise. The project may be scientific, research, education, and/or service oriented, and is partially funded through grant provisions.



Daily Operations





  • Manages multiple programs, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, maintains fiscal records for programs



  • Manages daily financial expenditures; monitors budget expenditures

  • Assists faculty, staff and students with travel

  • Reconciles monthly credit cards

  • Greets guests to the office and answers phone for the department

  • Performs other related duties as assigned




Required Skills



  • Must be Excel and MS Word proficient with financial and analytical skills

  • Must have a knowledge of grants preparation and management

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

  • Program planning and implementation skills

  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of the College's financial system (BANNER)

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently is required

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to exercise good judgment in a timely fulfillment of responsibilities




Required Education and Experience



Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of two (2) years directly related management expertise in fiscal services and administration experience required.

  • Usual office environment.

  • Visual and auditory acuity



  • Able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time
