Peeler Operator Operates the pole shaver and related system components in a productive, efficient and safe manner.

Principal Responsibilities:

•Processes barkie poles through shaving machine, clean bark removal and smooth shaves poles.

•Maintains shaver system equipment including daily service of parts, grease, inspect, and cleaning.

•Changes and maintains cutter parts, properly sets and calibrates knives for optimum efficiency.

•Secures operating systems by established start-up and shut-down procedures.

•Documents and reports quality, mechanical and operations production to the supervisor.

•Assists in maintenance and repair of system equipment as required.

•Assists in receipt of inbound materials, tally and marks loads, and records information.

•Assists in inspection and reclassification of round stock as required.

•Assists in loading and unloading of products, sets dunnage, loads trucks, rail cars and bands loads.

•Assists in cutting, loading and shipment of salvage logs and firewood.

•Communicates production quality concerns with appropriate individuals.

•Participates and contributes to company safety program.

•Perform other related duties as assigned.
