Position Summary
The Manager, Distribution will play a vital role in ensuring seamless material movements within Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. This position offers an excellent opportunity to lead a dynamic team and contribute to the flawless delivery of services to our customers. The successful candidate will be instrumental in meeting and exceeding the goals and objectives of our manufacturing site. Your leadership will ensure that materials are accurately where they need to be, closely adhering to schedules and improving overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure safe working practices are closely maintained and the area is kept in a clean, tidy, and safe state at all times.
Conduct incident and accident investigations, implementing robust countermeasures.
Lead shift Tier meetings each morning at the start of the shift.
Coordinate multiple teams, participating in new candidate selection, training, and performance evaluation.
Perform daily walk-arounds and checks, reporting findings in Tier meetings.
Successfully complete all tasks within defined timelines.
Supervise staff in line with our values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
Promote a transparent, positive work environment with frequent communication and collaboration.
Assess and address employees' training needs, ensuring cross-training and career development.
Ensure customer needs are met through monitoring performance and maintaining records.
Resolve customer issues when necessary.
Collaborate with site leadership to meet all customer and company objectives.
Develop and track critical metrics, implementing standard methodologies.
Support PPI efforts and guide personnel in improvement initiatives.
Attend training classes and regional meetings as needed.
Perform on-site program replenishments and disbursements.
Coordinate all material movements across Logan campus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business, or similar preferred
Or high school diploma or equivalent and 4+ years experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum Qualifications
At least seven to ten years of experience in a people management role.
Manufacturing experience preferred; ISO 13485 or GMP environment experience is advantageous.
Proven high-quality customer service skills.
Diligent, creative problem solver, and fosters a collaborative environment.
Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
Flexible with hours.
