Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer for one of our St Louis, MO clients. The successful candidate will lead and manage engineering projects focused on optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the successful implementation of new technologies. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing engineering, project management, client engagement, and process improvement to support the company's goals of maximizing productivity and maintaining high product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Lead and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
Process Optimization: Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality. Implement solutions such as automation, lean manufacturing techniques, and other process enhancements.
Equipment Design and Upgrades: Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to design, install, and upgrade manufacturing equipment to meet production needs and safety standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality control, sales, production and other departments to ensure smooth project execution, resolve issues, and ensure all stakeholders are aligned with project goals.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and present data on manufacturing processes and project outcomes to ensure transparency and continuous improvement.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all project activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the plant.
Supplier Management: Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness. Develops pricing strategies to maximize profitability by accurately costing products in collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, manages P&L, keeping projects on time and within financial constraints.
Client Engagement: Ensures customer demands are met in a manner that fosters growth and success for both the customer and the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a similar role, preferably in a project-oriented environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and process optimization techniques.
Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in CAD software, manufacturing systems, and other engineering tools.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in automation and robotics, welding/fabrication shops, tubular products, steel
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP).- BONUS
Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
