We are seeking a full-time a Aviation Systems Test Engineer 2 located in our Olathe, KS office. In this position you will work hands on with Garmin's Integrate Flight Deck, testing industry-changing and life-saving innovations, such as our recently introduced Emergency Autoland, which will revolutionize general aviation. This role will challenge you to find new and unique ways to test innovative Avionics features as they are being developed. You will have opportunities to collaborate with both Garmin's customers, as well as internal software teams to ensure that requirements are being implemented correctly.
Essential Functions
Provides system testing support for developmental requirements of OEM programs
Communicates status and schedule for the system testing needs applicable to planned deliveries
Provides feedback to development teams to ensure solutions are designed to meet system testing needs
Provides troubleshooting support to identify the system root cause
Provides clear and sufficient detail about issues observed with details sufficient for internal or external customers
Identifies and implements improvements to system testing processes and tools
Identifies improvements and modifies tools for use in system testing
Supports troubleshooting of issues reported by simulation companies and provides clear communication for internal and external customers
Develops improvements to data packages delivered to simulator companies
Anticipates and creates solutions for simulator company qualification needs
Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Demonstrates knowledge of several complex integrated avionic functions
Demonstrates mastery of relevant tools for use in system testing
Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills
Demonstrates knowledge of requirements for simulator qualification
Desired Qualifications
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
Previous work or internship experience with consumer or aviation products
