We are seeking a full-time Aviation Compliance Engineer in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional engineering teams and outside testing labs to achieve domestic and international compliance, such as EMC spectrum compliance (FCC, IC, CE, etc.), technology specific approvals (BT SIG, Apple MFi, etc.), and battery regulations.
Essential Functions
Achieves compliance for aviation systems with multiple technologies (GPS, VHF COM, Radar, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc.)
Applies compliance standards and procedures in the creation and implementation of compliance plans through final product approval for new products and product redesigns
Leads compliance review meetings
Provides regulatory input to product development plans and concept documents
Communicates compliance plan elements, expectations and deliverables to project team
Researches regulatory approval requirements in new markets
Evaluates impact of standards updates to existing products and formulates appropriate action plans
Performs as a compliance leader who guides compliance direction for a given project or product
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or a related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Must possess demonstrated knowledge, education, and/or training of basic circuits (Digital, FPGA, Analog and/or RF)
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Superior organizational/analytical skills with keen attention to detail/quality and must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others, ensuring successful achievement of company goals
Desired Qualifications
Experience with ESD, EMC, or EMI and country certifications or homologations
Previous work or internship experience with circuit design for consumer or aviation products
Previous work or internship experience at a commercial testing laboratory
Aviation related experience
