Job Details
This position manages the assembly, QA, delivery and support of the Global Products & Solutions hardware and software solutions. Responsible for leadership and oversight of staff and serve as liaison for fulfillment and support to Global Products & Solutions management and Global Products and Solutions customers. Will oversee vendor ordering, Global Products and Solutions hardware assembly, quality assurance of assembly process, and field installation. Ensure documentation and reporting for internal and external clients, and support efforts for existing equipment in the field. Position will require learning proprietary software and hardware solutions. Key Customers include hospitals, emergency rooms, hospital blood banks, hospital pharmacies, stroke centers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers, CRO's and international entities.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively oversee all hardware assembly process and the staff that performs these tasks.
Ensure all quality assurance testing is complete and accurate on hardware according to existing SOP, and documentation is recorded in prescribed systems.
Oversee hardware Support function, ensuring timely resolution to customer submitted issues and requests into tier 2.
Ensure ongoing training and education of all Support staff on past and current issues for ongoing group knowledge, including contract support staff.
Maintains vendor relationships, reviews vendor invoices and service for accuracy, researches new vendors for improvements, conducts regular vendor meetings, tracks vendor issues for meeting and vendor grading.
Responsible for ordering, forecasting, inventory management, and warranty repair of vendor components.
Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports for management and other departments related to fulfillment center activity, assets and related items.
Collaborates with internal staff on new projects, innovation initiatives, and other activities that bridge the gap from idea to prototype design. This includes sourcing, building and testing new devices.
Prepare, configure and arrange logistics for trade shows and other demonstration events.
Ensure proper packaging design and materials for all shipments, and ongoing related process improvements.
Create process and teaching documents for internal use and customer use on processes such as buildout, testing, electrical, or support documents.
Ensure staff after hours on-call schedule is planned.
Maintain safety program of Support staff and warehouses, ensure routine safety audits are complete, and routine training is conducted.
Manage warehouse real estate and interface with external landlord and related activities.
Ongoing focus on staff development.
Ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date: ticket system, inventory reporting, knowledge base, safety records, others as necessary.
Remains aware of competitive RFiD activity in the area and informs management of competitive trends.
Completes various special projects as assigned.
Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time (including local travel). Provide ongoing support to internal/external customers as needed.
Will work on-call as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Experience managing (hiring and developing) teams required in a structured or technical business. Requires broad familiarity in fields such as networking, IT architecture, business administration, healthcare, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a two or four-year degree program; five (5) plus years of experience in a broad-based healthcare or IT position with increasing responsibility preferred.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
