Community Engaged Health Equity Research Professional🔍School of Medicine, Stanford, California, United StatesNew📁Research📅3 days ago Post Date📅105017 Requisition #Stanford Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and the Stanford Medicine Office of Community Engagement are seeking a bilingual Community Engaged Health Equity Research Professional to support multiple community-based participatory research projects focused on health equity. This position will be a key team member for projects focused on dementia and aging among minoritized racial and ethnic groups, and engagement of community organizations and others as research partners. Research methods include quantitative (e.g., surveys) and qualitative (e.g., focus groups, interviews, facilitation of community meetings and patient advisory boards). There is an emphasis on translating findings into programs and policies and substantial opportunity to gain hands on experience in health equity research. This position is hybrid and based in Stanford, CA.Duties include:* Assist in designing study activities, exercising independent initiative and judgment gained from completing a variety of high level assignments, including activities such as defining variables, formulating hypotheses, and selecting subjects, sources of information, or planned and coordinating experimental protocols.
* Adapt or work out the details of new, nonstandard procedures, with the supervisor providing general guidance and suggestions.
* Support various Advisory Boards in the form of facilitation, coordinating meeting logistics, agenda setting, and evaluation.
* Interpret, synthesize, and analyze data using scientific or statistical techniques.
* Solve problems, and make decisions that affect the direction of the research and result in independent contributions to the overall project.
* Select and apply standard calculations and formulas independently to compile data or process documents; often serve as a resource for research methods and numerical analyses.
* Significantly contribute to qualitative data analysis and synthesis.
* Support health equity work in the region by attending (in person) and contributing during relevant community meetings and events, and serving as liaison between projects and key community partners.
* Co-author sections of research publications and regulatory reports as needed.
* Complete project-related administrative and budgetary responsibilities of a limited scope as needed.
* Supervise staff or students, including oversight and instruction on techniques, as well as consultation on project work.*- Other duties may also be assignedDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* MPH, MS, or similar education and experience preferred.
* Experience with community-based research and public health programs.
* Fluent in Spanish
* Qualitative research methods and facilitation experience preferred. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):Bachelor of Arts degree in an applicable social science related field and two years applicable experience, or combination of education and experience in an applicable social science.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):

* General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
* Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment.

* Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
* Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work with human study participants.
* Developing supervisory skills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
* Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
* Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, writing by hand, and sort/file paperwork or parts.

* Ability to travel in the 9-county Bay Area for meetings and data collection
* This position is based in Stanford's Research Park and has the option of a telecommuting/hybrid schedule subject to operational needs.The expected pay range for this position is $81,130 to $94,895 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
