Job Description:

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties, however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

• Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.


• Understand job ticket information to determine special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements.


• Prepare the cylinders and plates for mounting.


• Transfer layouts to the proofer.


• Mount plates and check for the correct copy and unwind.


• Complete all of the scheduling priorities prior to shift end.


• Know the SAP purchase requisition order system and have the ability to create a purchase requisition.


• Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product.


• Complete required quality inspections and paperwork.


• Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.


• Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding area.


• Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.


• Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.


• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Other Requirements (education, experience, skills/knowledge)

• High School diploma or equivalent


• Plate mounting experience preferred


• Must be able to rotate shifts and work overtime


• Computer knowledge preferred


• Good verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


• Ability to stand for up to 12 hours per day up to six days per week.


• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.


• Ability to work with your hands for long periods of time.
