We are seeking a full-time Systems Architect 1 in our Olathe, KS location. This unique position will provide expert-level leadership within the Microsoft suite of applications and how they impact user experience for Garmin endpoint systems. This architect role will leverage experience across endpoints, infrastructure andcyber security to improve the associate experience, manage changes to the environment, and increase adoption across Garmin endpoints.
Essential Functions
Change Management - Internal and External changes are consistently made that have an impact to/within the Microsoft ecosystem. Developing a mechanism to understand how to control these changes to ensure a managed user experience is critical.
Measurement - Leads system performance analysis utilizing trends, system metrics, and current business transactions, traffic, or usage through the system. From this analysis diagnose or make recommendations for improvements
Modernization - Research and identify new technologies to improve system performance and availability. Lead discussions around applying a modernized approach for endpoint updates, adoption, system imaging, software deployments, etc
Acquisition/Adoption - Leads or assists technology and product assessments, performing evaluations as required and making acquisition recommendations. New products and features are frequently released from Microsoft or within our Microsoft environment that require evaluation, testing, and communication.
Policy - Influence standards through policy and procedures in order to ensure 100% clarity is achieved by associates, and IT/Security and what will drive operational processes and procedures
Partnership/Ownership - Translates, negotiates and communicates architectural and development concepts across development teams. This role will work alongside Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and Desktop Management teams to ensure the Endpoint experience is tightly managed and experience is controlled.
Expert- Level / Executive Support - Completes complex troubleshooting/root cause analysis and can determine appropriate course of action to deliver actionable results
Communication - Translates, negotiates, and communicates architectural and development concepts across development teams and to Garmin associates (including up to Senior Executives)
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or related field AND a minimum of 9 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Managed/Administered Windows infrastructure services (Active Directory - Azure+On Prem, Exchange, etc) AND/OR direct experience working in/with Cyber Security (specific to endpoints)
Experience setting/developing Endpoint strategies and policies
Excellent communication skills - executive level
Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of technology solutions
