The department is ranked as one of the top psychology programs in the nation and has been a leading psychology department among American universities for decades. This extraordinary achievement was honored by the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. in 2003.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Department of Psychology is seeking a Senior Human Resources Administrator (HRA 2) to provide support to faculty, staff, and students. This role will report to the Director of Finance and Operations and serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to faculty and staff.The HRA 2 will have a passion for recruitment, employee relations, performance coaching, and management. The HRA 2 should be able to demonstrate a significant ability for discretion, diplomacy, and confidentiality in handling sensitive issues. The HRA 2 utilizes a wide range of human resources management skills, independently advising and analyzing options to address the hiring, compensation, and program organization needs of the department.The HRA 2 will independently advise supervisors and faculty members on; recruitment, promotions/re-classifications, job descriptions, job classifications, job postings, salary setting, departmental onboarding, workers' compensation, disability leaves, H1B visas, and sexual harassment training.The position is responsible for interpreting new policies and procedures for staff and faculty in writing and verbally. The HRA 2 supervises a full-time Human Resources Administrator 1.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be highly motivated, and be driven to be successful. Some of the attributes for success in this position include being highly organized, proactive, extremely detail-oriented, and able to multitask with ease in a fast-paced environment. In addition to having a can-do attitude and pleasant demeanor, you must have extraordinary communication skills that allow you to interact with a diverse group of people. Ability to use sound judgment and tact when dealing with employee-relations issues.Must demonstrate strong client service skills. Must know or have the ability to quickly learn University systems; Axess, PeopleSoft, Taleo, Oracle Financial, FASA, Outlook, etc.). Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive.Previous human resources and payroll experience is required.
This is a 100% FTE, continuing, exempt position. This position will be based on the Stanford campus and will be considered for an option of telecommuting (hybrid of working on-site and off-site), subject to operational need.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The expected pay range for this position is $75,020 to $96,121 per annum.
