ROLE SUMMARY:
The Automotive Technical Publisher Specialist , will mainly focus on producing and distributing service materials, including campaign procedures and Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) while assisting with TIPS articles. Ensures the accuracy of campaign procedures by validating and updating them before release.
Must be able to perform all of these:
Coordinates the production process of Technical Service Bulletin (TSB)/Campaign procedures starting with initial assessments.
Categorizes the level of importance of new and revised documents. Confirms parts availability with associated Part Planner.
Confirms that associated software files are available and loaded for retailers either through Service Operations (PFC - type reprogramming file) or Nuspire (CUW and PAK - type reprogramming files). Produces and maintains project tracking chart and monthly key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
Procures suitable test vehicles and scheduling of workspace with Service Engineering Center (SEC).
Produces or proofs Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) and TIPS articles:
Includes the development (if required) or evaluation of supplied work procedures, the sourcing of necessary materials (if required), confirming software file applicability, and collecting needed images to produce an accurate and comprehensive bulletin.
Assists in procedure photography and/or video creation when required.
Consults with Technical Specialist Supervisor on detailed and complex projects.
Maintains, revises, and updates existing publications as:
Parts supply evolves, material and material sourcing changes, tooling changes, and service procedures and troubleshooting steps are revised.
Receives revision requests from and validates revision and determines level of editing required.
Produces revision drafts if required. Assists in controlling availability and description edits for PFC - type reprogramming files on the Subaru Select Monitor 5- Reprogramming (SSM5R) diagnostic tool.
Assists in maintaining content on Service intranet website:
Creates, manipulates, and administers the Service intranet website through multiple software applications, working with all members of the Service and Training team.
Additional Responsibilities:
Supports District Service Quality Managers (DSQMs), Techline, Recalls and Campaign Manager, and Claims team on questions related to publications.
Occasionally assists with pre-sales repairs at the port facilities (port rectifications).
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong people skills to effectively engage and coordinate work with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels of the company.
Excellent listening, problem resolution, analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to multi-task while working in a fast paced, team-based environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Adobe editing skills such as InDesign, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Premier Pro.
Demonstrated technical expertise in the automotive field.
Video production, digital photography, and/or photo-editing skills preferred.
Education/Experience Requirements: Associate degree (AA, AS) or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience.
Certification/License Requirements
ASE Parts P2 and Service Consultant C1 certifications preferred.
ASE A1-A8 and Subaru Master / Sr Master Technician preferred.
Physical Demands:
Lifting up to 50 lbs.
Able to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
Perform light mechanical duties similar to an automotive technician.
Prolonged sitting at desk and working on computer.
Work Environment

High pressure and deadline-oriented projects
Frequently shifting priorities according to new "hot" technical topics during any given period.
Hybrid Role: Remote work 2 days per week (After 90 Days Onboarding)
Travel Required: 5-10% (may include weekends and occasional overseas travel)
Compensation: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $55,800.00 - $80,000.00/year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. (Job Grade: P1).
