Job Summary:
The Mortgage Operations Specialist is responsible for performing complex data and document validation, troubleshooting third-party orders, and evaluating loan applications for compliance with product guidelines. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing various tasks within the mortgage processing and underwriting workflow. The position also involves handling more complex customer inquiries and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform complex data and document validation for mortgage loan applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve third-party order issues (title, appraisal, hazard/flood certifications, credit reports, etc.).
Handle more complex calls, emails, and chat sessions, providing expert support to clients and team members.
Complete appraisal eligibility tasks and review related documentation.
Evaluate loan applications to ensure compliance with product guidelines and industry regulations.
Perform additional duties as required and assigned, supporting the overall mortgage process.
Demonstrate behaviors that align with the organization's desired culture, values, and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of experience in the mortgage industry, specifically in processing loan applications or related functions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of mortgage processes, financial services, and applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle complex customer inquiries with professionalism.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
