Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Saint Louis, MO.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Payroll Specialist will process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Verify timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations

  • Handle employee payroll inquiries, providing prompt and accurate responses

  • Prepare and submit payroll tax reports and other related documents

  • As a Payroll Specialist, you will maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in pay rates or benefits

  • Assist with audits by providing payroll-related information and supporting documentation

  • Coordinate with HR and Finance departments to ensure alignment on employee compensation and benefits

  • Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll regulations and implement necessary adjustments







REQUIREMENTS:



  • 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or related role

  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, including FLSA, state, and local laws

  • Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Ceridian, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information with integrity

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of payroll tax reporting and compliance






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
