Slalom NorCal is seeking a Client Partner to join the team to expand the Slalom brand within the California Public Sector. You will work closely with capability leaders and other markets to collectively establish Slalom as the "go-to" consulting partner for transformation projects across business and technology. The Client Partner will engage with colleagues throughout Slalom to introduce thought leadership, create winning proposals, and deliver superlative work, thereby growing Slalom's consulting footprint with existing customers and opening doors to new ones. This leader will also deliver solutions that enhance our transformation story and build on our strong foundation with our current strategic & emerging partners. We are open to hiring at either Senior Principal or Director-level, based on candidate experience.

Client Management:
Industry (Public Sector) Experience: Understand our Public Sector clients' business needs and challenges within a client setting and have a thoughtful point of view.
Deep background and experience in Public Sector agencies and institutions, their missions and the body of work typical to these organizations
Detailed knowledge of important areas of the Public Sector in California (State of California agencies and departments, the University of California and State University systems, county and municipal governments, etc.)
Understanding of and ability to work with budget cycles and current budget challenges.
Understanding of the State of California's project submittal and approval lifecycle.
Ability to read and properly interpret a client's RFP, RFQ/RFO, and RFI, assess whether Slalom is a good fit and recommend/decide if Slalom should respond.
Client Relationships: Cultivates relationships at the Director, Deputy Director, and C-Suite level within State of California Agencies, Departments, and Offices. Has managed escalations and works proactively at the C-Suite level to prevent surprises and mitigate risk when issues arise. Has trained and supported others in key operations functions.
Portfolio Management: Collaborate with Sales Executives to create account plans for targeted state and local agencies and departments
Engagement Management: Identifies opportunities to engage SMEs to assist with or augment project delivery. Helps drive thought leadership around improving Slalom's transformational customer love scores.

Account Leadership
Business Development: Drives proposals and partner with Pursuit Teams to develop and execute on sales strategy. Has led the negotiation and closing of opportunities.
Financial Management: Understands the nuances and differences from running operations. Has experience knowing common approaches to working with procurement organizations and the inherent differences in procurement across client sizes and industries.
Leadership & Collaboration
Strategy: In close collaboration with local market leaders, align global account and local market strategies.
Practice Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Slalom practices to define service offerings that meet Public Sector needs, bring those offerings to-market, and deliver capabilities through project work.
Public Relations: Promote Slalom in the market by attending / speaking at industry events, panels, etc.
About You
Professional Experience
10 years of relevant experience working with the public sector industry, either in-house and/or consulting industry
Consulting/Project Experience
Experience managing transformational programs that incorporate people, processes, and technology.
Relevant experience managing to utilization targets.
Hands-on contract negotiation experience with Non-disclosure Agreements (NDA), Master Service Agreements (MSA), and Statements of Work (SOW).
Experience managing the performance of individual consultants, either direct reports or members of project teams.
Excellent negotiation, conflict management, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Superlative writing skills and deep experience creating highly polished content for client executives.
Deep experience with oversight, governance, and quality assurance of all sold/managed engagements.
Ongoing awareness of industry best practices and business levers for a particular client list and ability to understand how various Practice Areas interact.
What you'll bring
Client management/leadership experience, ideally within a formal management consulting environment.
The ability to effectively balance business development, contracting/negotiating, solutioning, client engagement, delivery excellence enablement, operations/financial management and team/people management all in a single role.
Advanced project delivery, including all aspects of project/program management.
Previous P&L ownership and responsibilities.

Compensation and Benefits

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position the base salary pay range for Senior Principal is $167,000 - $258,000 and the targeted base salary range is $167,000 - 220,000. The base salary pay range for Director is $192,000 - $307,000, and the targeted base salary range is $192,000 - 240,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time
