The Marietta Manufacturing site is part of the Laboratory Equipment Division. Our products are used by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and universities for research to improve healthcare and quality of life. We offer equipment, accessories, and services for sample preparation, storage, and analysis.

The Staff Engineer will provide engineering support and project management for cost reduction projects and new product implementation by evaluating components, procedures, processes, materials, methods and compiling data, calculating savings and presenting recommendations to cross functional teams.
A Day in the Life:
A proactive approach in questioning project timelines, current designs, and/or manufacturing methods to drive improvements in product costs and introduce innovative products.
Evaluate components to improve material cost or to avoid material price increases while maintaining/improving product quality, function/performance, and reliability
Project management that includes interfacing through cross-discipline teams involving engineering, purchasing, PPI, quality, safety, and operations
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, resolve problems, meet deadlines, and handle fast paced critical work environment
Perform change development and evaluation
Work with manufacturing on scheduling and performing pre-production and production runs to support the process qualification for the projects
Prepare and direct preparation of engineering documentation (PSS books, Work Instructions, Forms, etc.)
Prepare and present detailed project reviews for assigned projects
Lead or participate with cross-functional teams to support production lines as required
Generate ideas that lead to cost take out opportunities
Ability to use tools to retrofit parts and troubleshoot units
Provide solutions to issues and gain consensus
Achieve results that move the project toward completion
Advance challenges that require additional support
Keys to Success:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
PMP preferred
Experience:
3-5 years engineering experience with project management
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High levels of self-discipline, drive and a proven ability to lead a small cross functional project team
Ability to problem solve quickly and provide alternate solutions to issues
Manage and communicate timelines to collaborators and team members
