Job Title: AWS Architect

Department: Operations - Services

Reports To: RavenTek Program Manager

Location: Remote

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week

FLSA Status: Exempt


Position Summary

The AWS Architect supports development, design, modernization, and migration in support of a government multi-cloud environment. The AWS Architect supports engineering and design with extensive AWS knowledge and experience with integration, system analysis or programming experience, including developing AWS systems requirements and design specification. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Application of activity and data modeling, transaction/workflow analysis, internal control, and risk analysis
  • Provide technical direction to personnel performing systems analysis and system/ subsystem development tasks
  • Coordinate and perform logical and physical systems design
  • Review and prepare system documents and specifications
  • Prepare reports, studies, and documentation, deliver presentations, and participate in meetings
  • Enforce quality standards for engineered solutions and promote continuous improvement
  • Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period
  • Submit MSRs (weekly, monthly, etc.)
  • Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 2 times per week, and respond accordingly
  • Complete required compliance training as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills

  • Modern business methods and performance measurement techniques
  • Knowledge to be able to provide sound advice as to prioritizing projects or tasks and when to delay
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Change and Configuration Management best practices
  • Cross functional communication knowledge

Education & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • 7+ years of integration, systems analysis, or programming experience
  • 5+ years of developing systems requirements and design specifications in AWS
  • 3+ years of experience in project management/ lead architect positions in AWS development or implementation
  • Experience leading and collaborating with technical teams of diverse IT related skill sets

Certifications, Licenses

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate-Required
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional-Preferred
  • AWS Certifications in specialty domains such as Advanced Networking or Security-Preferred
  • Other Certifications such as Red Hat Ansible-Preferred

Special Requirements

Public Trust Clearance required
