The University of Miami Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery is looking to hire an Associate Professor of Clinical Dermatology. Founded over 60 years ago, our Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery is one of the most respected and dynamic programs in the country. The Associate Professor of Clinical will have clinical and research responsibilities within the Department of Dermatology. The incumbent will serve as an attending physician in the Division of Dermatology, with focus on the care and treatment of patients with general dermatology conditions. The candidate will be expected to share in inpatient coverage and coverage of our telehealth service for the cruise lines with other colleagues, participation in educational conferences, department meetings, as well as scholarly work and administrative functions associated with the department. The ideal candidate will have experience working with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams, in teaching, and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must be able to work efficiently and independently as part of a collaborative group.
Job Functions
Treatment and prevention of general dermatology, specializing in the treatment and care for patients of general dermatology disorders in the outpatient settings throughout UHealth
Provide high quality medical care to patients with general dermatology conditions
Conducts examinations, assesses and evaluates symptoms, determines conditions, and prescribes medical treatment or services
Train/mentor residents and fellows to increase their clinical fund of knowledge and interest/success with academic research
Preparation and presentation at teaching conferences
Obtain data and results that can be used to submit an application for future clinical research awards
Provide coverage on inpatient service/telehealth service for the cruise lines as needed
Oversees mid-level medical staff as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
MD Degree
Certification and Licensing:
Fully trained in Dermatology-board-certified or board-eligible
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have experience working with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams, in teaching, and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must be able to work efficiently and independently as part of a collaborative group.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Valid Florida medical license
Valid DEA license
BLS/ACLS certified

As a faculty member, we also anticipate that you will be an active participant - attending meetings, Grand Rounds, and other University scholarly activities.
