Department Summary
The Division of Vocal Studies has fourteen full-time faculty, one adjunct faculty, and eight graduate teaching fellows. There are over 80 students pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral of Musical Arts degrees in vocal performance. Additionally, the Division of Vocal Studies serves over 100 music majors with voice as their concentration who are pursuing degrees in Music Education, Music Composition, Music History, Music Theory and Jazz Studies. Secondary lessons are available for music majors with other concentrations, as well as other majors across campus. Faculty of the Division of Vocal Studies teach Applied Lessons, Vocal Pedagogy, English Diction, French Diction, German Diction, Italian Diction, Vocal Literature, Collaborative Piano, Class Voice, and are responsible for UNT Opera productions.
Position Overview
The Division of Vocal Studies in the College of Music at the University of North Texas seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool. The anticipated need is for Stage Director for Cosi fan tutte (MUEN 3040/5040/5040z) Opera Theater.
Minimum Qualifications
A master's degree in the discipline or a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours directly related to the assigned courses(s).
Extensive (minimum ten years) professional stage director experience.
Working knowledge of Italian.
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree in discipline is preferred.
