This position is responsible for assuring smooth operation of the clinic patient flow. Employees serve as primary contacts for patients and are responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing necessary paperwork before the patient visits, receiving patients, and maintaining records. In addition, this position is responsible for processing charges for clinic services, filing insurance claims, responding to requests for information from patients and insurance companies and maintaining related information for the department. Employees may have cash handling responsibilities.

Major/Essential Functions
Greet patients warmly and sincerely as they arrive at the clinic or call in via phone.
Act as the patient's guide and advocate through the administrative details of their clinic visits.
Identify and update patient information by navigating multiple computer systems and inputting accurate data.
Receives all incoming calls for the clinic. Takes information from incoming calls and distributes accordingly.
Calculates and collects payments for clinic services.
Ensures patient benefits have been verified and ensures insurance information is accurate upon check-in.
Schedules patient appointments.
Contacts patients to confirm next-day appointments and contact patients who have missed appointments.
Coordinates clinic schedule information with physicians and staff.
Maintains a professional customer service atmosphere for patients, physicians, and staff.
