Maintenance Technician 8am-4:30pm M-F at Silgan Plastics Corporation in Deep River, Connecticut

Job Description:

Will be required to perform work in the following areas: welding, pipe fitting, sheet metal fabrication, compressor rebuilding, hydraulics, rigging and general equipment repair and installation. Has a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all the duties listed below.



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performs welding, pipe fitting and sheet metal fabrication.


• Performs compressor rebuilding and hydraulic repair.


• Performs rigging and general equipment repair.


• Uses a variety of materials to make alterations, installations and repairs on all types of plant machinery and on all auxiliary equipment.


• Must work in a safe manner, insuring all guards and safety devices are in place after job completion.


• Must be able to read prints.


• Must be able to lift heavy objects.


• Must obtain a fork lift license.


• Must perform all other duties as assigned.


• May perform limited electrical troubleshooting, repair or installation within abilities.
