Oregon State University Facilities Services is hiring for a full time General Maintenance Mechanic position. Facilities Services is responsible for constructing, protecting, repairing, maintaining, and preserving the physical facilities and utility systems of the University.

This position encompasses the following basic responsibilities:
Preventative Maintenance (PM)
Perform preventative maintenance on air handlers, exhaust fans and pumps.
Replace belts and make adjustments as needed.
Change filters
Lube/oil & inspect equipment as needed.
Other PM task, as identified.
Maintenance & Repair
Mechanical repair & maintenance of plant operating systems; heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, pneumatic and Direct Digital Controls (DDC) controls, tube and shell heat exchangers, and building plumbing systems.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and repair or replace parts as needed.
Assist in daily reactive maintenance tasks.
Plumbing
Repair: Pipes, drains, fixtures, heating related equipment and equipment including toilets, urinals, sinks (bathroom, utility, lab and kitchen), drinking fountains, water heaters, valves, faucets, & related parts.
Removal of waste and sewer line stoppages.
Installation, repair and maintenance on water pumps.
Equipment maintenance and service
Mechanical repairs.
Service equipment: check fluid levels, grease and coolants; replaces minor components; changes and/or repairs parts, pumps, fans, and motors.
Assist with maintenance and repairs of larger equipment.
Metal fabrication to include light welding of steel.
Participates in the following programs.
Customer Service, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Maintenance Operations, Preventive Maintenance, Energy Management, Fire Prevention & Protection, HAZMAT Control/Environmental compliance, Emergency Response.
Provide excellent and inclusive customer service while communicating with vendors and customers.
Responsible for individual supplies & equipment inventory control and accountability.
Operate a university owned vehicle in the execution of daily duties.
Prepare requisition forms for supply purchases.
Participate in team training and cross training.
Commercial and institutional equipment
Troubleshoot, service, and repair various equipment.
