Job Description Summary
Research Aide to provide basic and general assistance to research projects being conducted under direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager of the Lonser Lab in the Department of Neurological Surgery; assists with general laboratory work and basic experimental techniques; prepares media, reagents, and solutions for use in experiments; performs and maintains cell cultures; assists with collection of and organizes research data; records data and maintains laboratory records documenting activities; sets up, operates and maintains lab equipment; assists in coordination and conduct of library research; washes glassware used in laboratory; autoclaves (sterilizes) glassware, tools and equipment as needed; assists with inventory and maintenance of research supplies; orders research supplies as needed; distributes materials and guides students; performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Skills/Experience Required/Desired
Two (2) years of college coursework or demonstrated ability in the conduct of routine field work or equivalent combination education and experience. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
