The Anesthesia Technology adjunct instructor is primarily responsible for supporting student learning by providing quality instruction in lab courses that the adjunct faculty member and the Dean/Director agree will be taught. Quality instruction includes clear course didactic, lab, and/or clinical objectives. Additionally prepared and relevant didactic, lab, and clinical activities, effective and understandable presentations of learning materials, fair and understandable grading practices (credit classes only), timely responses to students, and a positive atmosphere in the classroom.

1) Associate degree in Anesthesia Technology and current certification as an Anesthesia Technologist (Cer. ATT)
AND
Minimum of one (1) year of clinical practice.
OR
2) Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with a master's degree in nursing and a current, unencumbered RN license.
AND
Minimum of one (1) year of clinical practice.
OR
3) Physician (MD or DO) with a current unencumbered Oklahoma license to practice anesthesiology.
Demonstrated positive human relations and communication skills
Basic computer skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or similar software
Flexible teaching style to accommodate individual learning styles
Committed to helping students achieve their goals to be successful and attain a college education
Knowledge of or willingness to learn computer programs used in the department and on campus.

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to colleagues, students, faculty, staff, and administration to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer; other office machinery and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, classroom or office setting.

In addition to the primary responsibility for supporting student learning, an adjunct faculty member is expected to:
Fulfill course, program, and department goals and objectives.
Participate in Lab and clinical assessments of student learning outcomes for the program and/or department.
Respond in a timely fashion to information requests from program, division, and College administrators.
Attend department, division, and College meetings as required.
Acquire new knowledge and skills as appropriate for the academic discipline.
Maintain license or professional certification specific to program requirements.
Satisfy objectives for mutually agreed upon special assignments.
Support the College's vision, mission, goals, and priorities.
Course(s) this position may teach include: ANES 1112, 1124, 1134, 1143, 1155, 2114, 2125, or 2133.
Lab and clinical instruction may include: ANES-1124 lab/clinical, ANES-1134 lab, ANES-1155 lab/clinical, ANES-2114 lab, or ANES-2125 Lab/clinical
Essential Functions:
Participate in the adjunct orientation each semester.
Ensure that students receive quality education and are provided with every possible learning opportunity.
Exhibit appropriate professional attire (business casual) and behavior.
Serve as an appropriate mentor and role model for students.
Provide a safe learning environment for students.
Follow all course objectives and stated learning experiences as outlined in the course syllabus.
Document and notify ATT Program Director of any classroom management problems or excessive student absences that occur.
Utilize the College resources in support of student success as needed.
Timely submission of student reports required by OCCC and/or ATT program.
Timely submission of requested information supporting ATT program needs.
Maintain regular communication with the ATT Program Director via College email.
Timely preparation of classroom materials utilizing the College print management system.
Abide by the policies and procedures published in the Board of Regents Policies and College Policies & Procedures.
Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC's established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation and shelter in place drills and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
