PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT:
Graduation from an approved Physician Assistant program (Master's degree) and current Licensure as a Physician Assistant from the Texas State Medical Board. Must have prescriptive rights. A minimum of two years of experience is required; experience in ambulatory care and care of patients 18-30 would be preferred.
NURSE PRACTICIONER, ADVANCED:
Graduation (Master's Degree) from an approved nursing school/university in advanced practitioner nursing, current RN Licensure from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners, and registration with the Texas Board of Nurse Practitioners. Must have prescriptive rights. A minimum of two years of experience is required; experience in ambulatory care and care of patients 18-30 would be preferred.
Provides primary health care services on a college campus by evaluating, treating, and managing medical problems. The clinic also offers laboratory and pharmacy and is set up to provide minor procedural services.

Participates as a member of the clinical care team. Examines, evaluates, diagnoses and treats acute and chronic conditions in a concise and expeditious manner according to established protocol standards of care and physician oversight. Specifically, assesses, interprets, evaluates patient status and formulates and initiates a health care plan. Initiates patient communication and education as well as referral and urgent care. Consults with and provides guidance for nursing staff and ancillary employees. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Must be extremely adept in the ability to read, write, and speak effectively with medical staff, students, parents, other university departments, outside agencies, and visitors. Must be able to establish rapport with coworkers and patients. Must be able to effectively manage a schedule of a high volume of routine medical visits with proficient turn around time. Requires some physical stamina, due to a fast paced work environment with considerable standing, stooping, and walking to be expected. Careful attention is required to prevent injury to self or others.
